In this practice, your intention of wishing well to another doesn’t rely on an abstract concept of wellbeing, but finding the sense of wellbeing directly in your experience as the foundation.
When we wish others wellbeing, we’ll wish them this wellbeing, that we can feel presently; we imagine that they could experience it just as we are. When you’re in touch directly with a sense of joy, it’s quite natural and even effortless to wish that another could experience it too.
